Booking Conditions
RIVERCRUISING.CO.UK TERMS OF BUSINESS
Except where otherwise specified, we Co-op Travel Services Limited act only as an agent or sub-agent in respect of all bookings we take and/or make on your behalf.
These are the terms on which we will make a booking for your travel or holiday requirements. When making your booking we will arrange for you to enter into a contract with the supplier(s) (e.g. tour operator, airline, cruise company, accommodation company) named on your receipt(s).
We can book you a package holiday with one company or we can book the services that make up your holiday with different principals or suppliers, in which case you will have separate contracts with each of them. As agent we accept no responsibility for the acts or omissions of the supplier(s) or for the services provided by them.
The supplier’s Terms and Conditions will apply to your booking and we advise you to read these carefully as they contain important information about your booking. Please ask us for copies if you do not have them.
Our Agency Terms are governed by English Law and the jurisdiction of the English Courts. You may however choose the law and jurisdiction of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there and wish to do so.
All travel arrangements which we provide or which are sold through us are not an offer by us to sell any travel arrangements, but an invitation to you to make an offer to the suppliers of the arrangements. We are free to accept that offer on behalf of those suppliers or to reject it.
1. Booking and Payment
When you make a booking you guarantee that you have the authority to accept and do accept on behalf of your party these booking conditions.
To confirm your arrangements you must pay the deposit required by the supplier, or full payment if requested at the time of booking. All applicable insurance premiums and booking fees must also be paid.
Your booking is confirmed when we send you confirmation on the supplier’s behalf. Please check all details carefully and notify us immediately of any errors.
Names must match passports exactly. As booking agent we are not responsible for documentation errors unless made by us.
Booking information will be passed to relevant suppliers and authorities where required. This includes special category data such as medical, dietary, or religious requirements. By booking, you consent to this information being shared.
If full payment is not received by the balance due date, the supplier may cancel your booking and charge cancellation fees. All monies paid are held on behalf of the supplier unless stated otherwise.
2. Accuracy of Prices
Prices may be amended at any time. Errors can occur and you must check the final price at the time of booking.
3. Insurance
Many suppliers require travel insurance. We strongly recommend comprehensive cover including cancellation, medical expenses, baggage, and repatriation.
4. Special Requests
Special requests should be made at the time of booking. We will pass them to the supplier but cannot guarantee they will be fulfilled.
5. Changes and Cancellations
By You
All cancellation or amendment requests must be made in writing by the lead name. Requests take effect when received.
Supplier cancellation charges apply and may be up to 100 percent. We may charge an administration fee of £25 per person.
Most scheduled and low-cost airlines do not permit changes and cancellation charges are often 100 percent.
By the Supplier
If the supplier needs to make a significant change or cancel your booking we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible and liaise on alternative arrangements.
6. Our Responsibility for Your Booking
Your contract is with the supplier. Our responsibility is limited to making the booking according to your instructions.
Any liability is limited to twice the cost of your booking, except where death or personal injury results from our negligence.
7. Financial Protection
Package holidays are protected by the package organiser. ATOL protected flights or holidays will include an ATOL Certificate.
Linked Travel Arrangements may apply where additional services are booked. Insolvency protection is in place for payments made to us.
We have insolvency protection with ABTA – The Travel Association. Contact ABTA at 30 Park Street, London, SE1 9EQ, [email protected], 0203 758 8779.
This protection does not cover contracts with parties other than us.
8. Passport, Visa and Health Requirements
Passport, visa, and health requirements are your responsibility. Requirements can change and passports often need six months validity beyond return.
9. Accommodation Ratings and Information
Ratings are provided by suppliers and standards vary by country. Descriptions are indicative only and subject to availability.
10. Complaints
Complaints should be raised with the supplier during travel. If unresolved, contact us on return.
ABTA ADR is available for unresolved disputes. See www.abta.com.
11. Final Travel Arrangements
Please ensure documents are correct and allow sufficient check-in time. Some flights require reconfirmation.
12. Delivery of Documents
Documents are normally sent by Royal Mail. We are not responsible for loss once dispatched unless due to negligence.
13. ABTA
We are a member of Co-op Travel Services Limited ATOL Accredited Body and ABTA. We comply with ABTA’s Code of Conduct.
