Yangtze River Guide

Phil's comment: I had the pleasure of cruising the Yangtze River with Viking River Cruises in November 2008 and it was the most amazing experience. Seeing how the land has changed since the flooding of the Yangtze and discovering how new meets old as I travelled down the river visiting new cities on its banks and old settlements in the Three Gorges. This fantastic part of the river consists of Gorge, Wuxia Gorge and Xiling Gorge, hence the collective term – the Three Gorges.

The Yangtze River is over 6,300 km longs and is by far the longest river in China and the third longest in the world. The Yangtze flows from West to East through several provinces including, Qinghai, Tibet, Yunnan, Sichuan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi Anhui and Jiangsu. Not forgetting the vibrant city of Shanghai. The Yangtze empties into the East China Sea at the end of its journey.

The very best way to see China and everything it has to offer is to incorporate a Yangtze River cruise into your itinerary. Probably the most popular will be Viking River Cruises and Wendy Wu Tours. If you would like more details of our Wendy Wu special offers, simply click here.
