Prague and the Danube 2020 Saga River Cruise
Enjoy a two-night hotel stay in Prague before cruising along the beautiful Danube visiting a string of historic towns and vibrant cities.
Fly to Prague and enjoy two nights at the locally rated 5-star Corinthia Hotel Prague (4Q), with dinner included tonight.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Perhaps discover it on an optional city tour this morning. Or go exploring independently – don’t miss the fascinating astrological clock striking the hour in the Old Town Square.
Check out after breakfast and travel by coach to Nuremberg. Embark your ship and enjoy a welcome drink and dinner on board.
Pause in Kelheim this morning to join an optional excursion to Weltenburg Abbey with a short boat trip through the Danube Gorge or stay on board and cruise to UNESCO-listed Regensberg, with its medieval old town and 12th century bridge. Set sail again this evening.
Passau is home to an impressive baroque cathedral containing the largest church organ in the world. You can join an optional short walking tour of the highlights or enjoy a full-day optional excursion to Salzburg, famous for being Mozart's birthplace. Amadeus Royal leaves Passau early evening, crossing into Austria. Spend the evening cruising.
Melk is best known for the great baroque Melk Abbey, which has a magnificent church – perhaps visit it on an optional tour. Your cruise continues to picturesque Dürnstein, beneath the ruined Kuenringer Castle where Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned during the late 12th century. Set sail for Vienna tonight.
Enjoy an included morning sightseeing tour of elegant Vienna, for 600 years the centre of the Hapsburg Empire. Drive around the Ringstrasse avenue encircling the old city, taking in famous sights such as the State Opera House. After lunch an optional excursion visits sumptuous Schönbrunn Palace, or perhaps take in a classical concert in Vienna after dinner. Depart for Bratislava tonight
Explore the capital of Slovakia – part of Czechoslovakia until 1993 – independently this morning, or join an optional tour. An included city sightseeing tour will reveal the highlights of both Buda and Pest on opposite banks of the Danube, including UNESCO-listed Buda Castle, Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion.
