New River Ships for 2018
We're all aware of the growth in the river cruise sector. Year on year we have seen an increase in a number of people travelling by river cruise. And the obvious answer for the cruise lines is to launch new ships! Why wouldn't they want to meet the ever-growing demand and introduce more choice for customers? Amongst river cruise lines introducing new river ships in 2018 is Amadeus River Cruises, Avalon Waterways, AmaWaterways, Viking River Cruises and more. And there are some exciting new features such as swimming pools and interconnecting cabins.
New River Ships for 2018!
Amadeus River Cruises : Amadeus Queen
Joining Amadeus River Cruises fleet in 2018 is their 15th river ship - The Amadeus Queen. Boast spacious, luxurious public areas and staterooms, this new vessel will sail the Danube, Rhine and Main rivers, as well as the Belgian and Dutch Waterways. Unlike any of Amadeus' existing ships, the Amadeus Queen will feature an indoor swimming pool with a retracting roof for when the sun shines. What's more... the area will also host lectures and film screenings!
Amadeus Queen will celebrate her debut season with itineraries through the Dutch Tulip Fields and Danube Cruises from Passau.

Avalon Waterways' next new ship is specifically designed for the Mekong River. The Avalon Saigon, set to carry 36 passengers, will launch in September 2018.
For those who know Avalon Waterways - you'll appreciate their current 'suite ship' concept. Their cabins are slightly bigger than competitors and they're proud of the space-per-passenger ratio aboard! So.. just like their European 'Suite Ships', Avalon Saigon will have spacious cabins with sliding French balcony doors (but with screens to keep out the insects).

Let's call it... the return of Egypt. And Viking River Cruises are not alone with new Nile River Cruise itineraries!

On top deck will be an infinity-esque pool and two Jacuzzis and of course, the vessel will live up to the 'Viking Standard', with the same Scandinavian influences that have proven popular on their existing fleet. Viking are already sailing the Nile onboard chartered vessels, but these are to be replaced with sailings aboard their very own Viking Ra.
