World’s Most Contemporary Barge
Hotel barge cruise specialists, European Waterways, are launching their most contemporary barge to date; could it be the world’s most contemporary?
Luxury hotel barge, Finesse will make her debut in May 2016 to cruise the River Saone and Canal du Centre in Southern Burgundy. Comfortably accommodating up to 8 passengers, this deluxe double-decker vessel at 38-metres long will feature 4 spacious (265 sq. ft.) twin or double bedded staterooms, each with its very own en-suite bathroom.
Finesse will boast a large saloon with panoramic windows for guests to enjoy the views as they glide smoothly past historic towns and vineyards, there is a demonstration galley for guests to watch their gourmet meals being prepared and décor will be modern and contemporary throughout the vessel. Sun deck will be spacious with comfortable deck chairs, a relaxing spa pool and an al fresco dining area!
“We are always looking for new ways to both excite and entertain our guests, to make their cruise with us one of their most memorable,” said Derek Banks, managing director of European Waterways. “The Finesse is being built to exacting standards and with the utmost luxury in mind and will have a modern design that includes a clean and spacious interior with panoramic saloon windows, offering plenty of natural daylight for passengers.”

Never considered a Burgundy barge cruise?
Unknown to most, France is a top choice amongst barge cruisers and it’s easy to see why, with countless waterways flowing through its key cities and historic countryside. On a 6-night cruise along the River Saone and Canal du Centre you’ll pass through the well-known wine region of Southern Burgundy, visiting local wine producing towns and enjoying tastes of Burgundy’s courageous Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays along the way. Of course, there is more to Burgundy than their vineyards, you’ll visit magnificent cathedrals, historic villages and local markets with brilliant opportunities for both walking and cycling if you so wish.
