Emerald Waterways Receive Great Reviews
Emerald Waterways are certainly off to a great start, after just two full seasons and an array of awards, they're now up there with the best!
Emerald have received one of the highest collective ratiings in the just-release 2016/2017 Berlitz River Cruising in Europe Guide. Coming in as the second highest ranked river cruise line, surpassing other, perhaps more established lines such as Viking.
David Winterton, brand manager for Emerald Waterways, said: “We’re honoured with the recognition we’ve received from both our guests and the travel media and this is testament to the efforts made by our hard-working employees. We all continue to push for excellence with new innovative ships and new destinations, improving the experience for our guests with even better service, amenities and excursion experiences.”
With high ratings in all five of the review criteria (Hardware, Accommodation, Cuisine, Service and Misc.), the reviews point out many of the Star-Ship’s wonderful facilities, from the cabin’s design to the on-board indoor-outdoor pool and movie theatre. It also recognises that Emerald Waterways offers a greater number of active excursions than most, is named with three others as an industry driver when it comes to creativity in ship design, and as only one of just few lines that offer healthy choice selections at meals.
Emerald Waterways will be launching three new ships in 2017, new combination itineraries and more programmes of active excursions. The Emerald Liberté will sail on the Rhône and Saône rivers in France, Emerald Radiance will be dedicated to a new itinerary that cruises Portugal’s picturesque Douro River, and the Emerald Destiny will be Emerald Waterway’s fifth ship to sail through the heart of Europe on the Danube, Rhine and Main.
The recently announced EmeraldACTIVE programme will offer guests guided bike tours and invigorating hikes on six of Emerald Waterways’ most popular European itineraries. Examples include treks in Germany’s dramatic Black Forest and to Wertheim Castle near Miltenberg, and a guided bike tour of the Austrian city of Melk or a more urban biking experience around the Serbian capital of Belgrade.
