Emerald Waterways Christen Two Ships
Emerald Waterways’ fleet grew from 2 Star-Ships to 4 on Friday 21st August when their two brand new ships were christened in Budapest!
Emerald Dawn and Emerald Sun were christened together in a joint celebration in Budapest. Both ships were christened by travel professionals, Julie Kendrick (Emerald Sun) and Kelly Bergin (Emerald Dawn). Julie Kendrick began her career in travel over 25 years ago as a counter sales staff at Co-operative Travel and has progressed to become Head of Commercial at Midcounties Co-operative Travel. Kelly Bergin too has over 25 years of experience in the industry and has recently been appointed the President of OASIS.
As you would expect both Emerald Dawn and Emerald Sun share the same configuration as the previous two Star-Ships (Sky and Star). Both new Star-Ships carry 182 guests in 72 suites and 20 staterooms, including 2 specifically for sole occupancy! On board there will be a heated swimming pool with a retractable glass roof, but with a difference – this area transforms into a cinema room! Also on board are two restaurants, a hair dresser, massage therapy room and a fitness area.
Launched in 2014, Emerald Waterways currently have the newest fleet on Europe’s waterways! There fares include all airport transfers to and from the ship, all onboard meals, unlimited tea and coffee, drinks with lunch and dinner (including wine, beer and soft drinks), Wi-Fi, most shore excursions and all gratuities.
